Thinking as a visitor I thought what would set me up for a stay in Edinburgh! That's why I created this tour so you could get a real sense of the two sides of Edinburgh. It orientates you to the city centre and helps with the planning of the rest of your stay. It lets you see a city rich in culture and ancient history blessed with beauty, mystery, many famous people, so you can experience this city from someone born here, also the birthplace of the likes of Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson, Arthur Conan Doyle so stories abound Bringing the old town to life for you as we stroll along its narrow streets, revealing the secrets that lie hidden in its dark closes of how people lived and some of the famous and infamous characters of the old town! Edinburgh's elegant Georgian 'new town' sometimes thought of as the Athens of the North, where you will get a sense of Edinburgh moving into a more classical, modern, enlightened capital city. My style is storytelling to inform and entertain you!
It will be walking with many photo opportunities. Here are some of the highlights to be seen on your journey: Edinburgh Old Town - Royal Mile - we will be on the top half of the Royal Mile for its old buildings and history. - Edinburgh Castle from the outside. - St Giles Cathedral from the outside. - Down some of the Old town closes to see behind the scenes. - Writers Museum from the outside. - Pass by David Hume Statue. Edinburgh New Town (concentrating on the middle and east end) - The Mound (going down, views of the new town). - National Art Galleries from the outside. - Princes Street Gardens (photo op for Edinburgh castle). - George Street (Pass through, classic buildings, monuments and statues). - The Dome (if possible, we will go inside). - Passing through St Andrews Square. - Quick stop views at Firth of Forth. - Royal Bank of Scotland (if possible, we will go inside). - East end of Princes St (classic buildings, weather permitting a view of Holyrood Park).
