Hi there, welcome to my page but more importantly welcome to Budapest! My name is Cili (Célia) and I hope to be your future guide in my hometown : Budapest, Hungary. I was born and raised in the downtown area of Budapest, right in the heart of the capital in a gorgeous historical building, therefore I like to refer to myself as a loud and proud downtowner. My main profile is different types of walking tours especially in the city center because it is filled with hidden gems that people usually don't find on their own but worth a look nonetheless. However as a teacher flexibility is super important to me so don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to alter something in the tours. My main focus on my tours is food, history, culture and hidden gems. Cooking, eating and sharing my tips and just talking about Hungarian cuisine is one of my favourite things to do so if you are a fellow foodie I think you would really enjoy my tours. When it comes to history I love to concentrate on understanding the "why"s and showing how history affected us, Hungarians rather than reciting dry dates or names. This subject naturally intertwines with culture but I enjoy other aspects of it too because I think without understanding the culture of a place you cannot really get to know it and indulge in it properly. Last, but not least, hidden gems. Since I spent 90% of my life in an area that is abundant in hidden gems I fell in love with them. It is my personal goal to show you as much as I can along with the most well-known part of Budapest. I hope to see you one day and show you my city and make you fall in love with it as much as I am (if that is even possible ). Feel free to contact me for a local experience in Budapest or in the countryside too. I am a licenced guide (in Hungarian, English and French) of Hungary. (since November, 2016, licence nr.: 160271) I am an English teacher and have a C1 exam, in addition to this I also have a B2 French exam. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not licenced to give tours in the Dohány street Synagoge, in the Parliament or in the Hungarian State Opera.
