San Sebastian is very famous for its gastronomy, for its bars and restaurants. In this case we'll focus on getting to know the city in depth and exploring its local cuisine through the pintxos (basque tapas). We'll know the most beautiful and emblematic places of the city. We'll also enjoy the local traditional food by the hands of an expert guide: ME, I am a Cooking member at the gastronomic club of the city, so I am in to it with passion! It can be challenging to ask for something to eat in these bars with so many so many options: but don't worry, I take care of it! There are many bars with good pintxos but we will go to the best ones. The ones I've been going to all my life with my father when I was little and I still go nowadays. I like to start with the fish and seafood specialties to continue with the meats. As far as wine is concerned, we start with the traditional white wines we call txakoli, perfect to accompany fish and then we move on to red wines with the meats. Best sights and savours Tour!
We will visit some of the best locations in the city. From the seaside to surrounding hills. We will finish the visit tasting 3 different pintxos in 3 different bars. Wine or beer included. 1. We'll begin with a breathtaking view from Mount Igueldo, there is a charming amusment park from 1920 best place to appreciate San Sebastian's natural beauty. 2. After that, we will drive to El Peine del Viento, a sculpture by local artist Eduardo Chillida, which has become a symbol for the city since its installation in 1976. It's located at the very edge of La Concha bay. 3. We continue through Mount Urgull and the old city. Here you can appreciate San Sebastian's historic buildings and the remaining fortifications from the Napoleonic Wars. San Sebastian was a critical battleground during the war for independence. 4. After the promenade we will taste the local basque tapas we called "pintxos" in the old town. Only the best bars and the best pintxos cooked on the spot. Contact me for a customized experience.
