Welcome to my world - welcome to southern Croatia - welcome to Dalmatia - the land with clear blue sea, thousands of rocky islands, and full of Mediterranean spirit. I was raised to live with the sea. The oldest memories of my childhood are those connected with the ocean. Dalmatia and its amazing cultural and natural heritage are in my blood. I spent my entire life in Dalmatia and made my living from its land and from its Adriatic sea. By embracing the Dalmatian local culture, I identified myself with the people who have lived here for generations. Traces of human settlements are still visible on thousands of locations scattered all around the area, from 50, 000 year old Neanderthal caves scattered all around Dalmatian mountains, to buildings and monuments built by recent generations who were affected by the latest geopolitical circumstances. An integral part of my hometown, Split, is the UNESCO palace built by one of the most successful Roman emperors - Diocletian - who lived 18 centuries ago. I walk these streets of the old town Split almost every day. The whole area of Dalmatia, in general, is dotted with amazing cultural sites, many of them being UNESCO heritage sites, and I consider myself proud to live and work here. Our visitors have praised the natural beauties of Dalmatia. These include its karst rivers with waterfalls and canyons; its breathtaking landscapes; and its incredible and diverse coastline with a pleasant climate. Working in such surroundings makes my tour guiding job much easier and more enjoyable. Each person feels connected with his local culture and environment, but to achieve proper understanding I believe that one needs to study more of his history and natural sciences. These things are very important aspects of my life and I devote much of my free time to enriching my knowledge in these areas. Since childhood, I have been passionate about exploring the secrets of Dalmatia and that is why I write, teach and research in the field of marine biology. My goal in life is to make contributions to understanding the world and to seek more sustainable ways for interaction between humans and the environment. When I started guiding, I found a way to unite all my passions and transfer those to my guests during the tour. The feedback I receive during the tours, for me is the greatest delight that can be experienced. * Licensed tourist guide for Split-Dalmatia County and Sibenik-Knin County * University degree and an active researcher in the field of Marine Biology * Driver's Licence (B)
