Tour guide in Nice Marie M.

Bonjour ! My name is Marie (Mary). I'm a professional tour guide, living in Nice since 2020. I studied during 5 years Languages, History and Culture, in France and Spain. I was born in Périgueux, Dordogne (South West of France). I was living between my hometown, in the countryside, and my holiday's house in l'île de Ré, on the Atlantic Cost. During many years, my family and I were use to go in the french Pyrénées where I discovered a real passion for hiking. I love History, Sport and meet people. I speak French, English and Spanish. My first studies were LLCER Espagnol (Hispanic cultures and languages) during 3 years. Since I had the opportunity to go on Erasmus in Spain (Andalucía and Murcia), I discovered a true passion for traveling. I love discovering different cultures, seeing amazing sites and learning as much as possible about them. So instead of staying for six months, I stayed for two years! It was in this wonderful country that after teaching French for a year, I realized that what I liked to do was pass on my knowledge. During summer (July and August), I was coming back to France to be with my family and friends, and have a seasonal work. I had my first experience as a tour guide in 2019, in a Cave in my hometown area and I fell in love of this wonderful job. In 2020, I decide (and COVID forces me) to return to France to finish my studies. I chose Nice for the quality of the University but also for the climate, the beaches and more importantly the Alpes mountains. Thanks to my previous experience as a tour guide, my studies were quite easy but they also helped me knowing better the History of the area. Today, with a professional tour guide license in my pocket, my vocation is to still continuing do research as much as possible about French Riviera History, tell you about the stories, myths and legends, and show you the real Côte d'Azur, as I know as a local inhabitant. I work as an independent tour guide, partner for Tourism Office, Agencies (Monaco and France) and Museums. I usually do tours in Nice, Monaco, Eze, Villefranche-sur-mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Villeneuve-Loubet, Cannes, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Saint-Tropez, Grasse and many more! I love meeting people from all over the world and reveal tips and secrets of my culture.
