Guide #1961
Hello there, My name is Gabriela, and I don't want to simply be your tour guide; I want to show you Paris through the eyes of someone who has lived, worked, and studied in this incredible city for over 13 years now. Let's imagine that I am the friend you have in a city you're visiting. I don't want to take you on a conventional city tour; we're not here to tick boxes. Instead, let's go for a walk. Whether it's your first time in Paris or not, we'll see so much more than the famous sights you've heard and read about: The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre, the Champs Elysées… I want to take you off the beaten path, where the locals go, where a bus can't take us. As a friend might ask, I would say to you, "What would you like to see?". Paris is the city of lights; tell me how you imagine this place, and together we'll find YOUR Paris. We can be as flexible as you like, concerning meet-up times, cafe or lunch stops, and itineraries. I will tell you about the places we visit and what they mean to Paris, sharing the stories behind the sights. I will advise you on where to go, why to go there, and what to see outside of our meeting. I can help you get to know Parisians, teach you a little French, and take you to see the Paris you might otherwise miss. Paris is a wonderful city, and though it may seem magical and almost like part of a fairy tale at first, it is, in fact, a regularly functioning city with a very complex infrastructure that could be hard to navigate if you are new here. So let me help you with that! A bit about myself: after studying cinema theory and art history at the Sorbonne, I have divided my career into two directions that I am very passionate about: I am a licensed guide (hence why I'm here on ToursByLocals since 2010!), and I am a contemporary art curator. I organize art exhibitions and work closely with artists. I love art, history, philosophy, and sociology, and you will see all these aspects on my tours. But rest assured, my tours can take any level of complexity you'd like - from history geek to a relaxed stroll with fun and hidden stories of the past and present of my city. And if I take you to a museum or a gallery, be sure to get a special treatment with artwork explanations in my own style. I hope to see you soon!
